Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala – Transfer to Kibale (Approx.5-6 hours)

Our driver will pick you up at 6.30a.m from your Entebbe or Kampala hotel and immediately depart for Kibale National Park. The drive has sceneries of farms and traditional homesteads. Arrive in the lodge in time for lunch and afternoon is on leisure.

Overnight: Crater Safari Lodge/Papaya Lake Lodge

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 2: Chimp Trek and Swamp Walk

After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to starting point of the chimp trekking/tracking for briefing.

The trekking can last for 2 to 4 hours depending on how close the chimps are. You will be given an hour of interaction with the chimpanzees as you take photos.  The park is known as home of primate with 13 primate’s species including the famous chimpanzees, some who have been habituated. During the trek you will encounter other primates like Vervet Monkeys, Blue Hoest Monkeys, Black and white colobus Monkeys. Later you will return from the trek and head to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, you will go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary for primate and bird viewing, the walk can take roughly 2 hours. Explore the hidden treasure of this swamp, with great chance to see a number of bird species and monkeys.

Overnight: Crater Safari Lodge/Papaya Lake Lodge

Day 3:  Kibale – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Travel time +6hrs

Have breakfast, and thereafter drive off to Bwindi passing through panoramic views along the way. You will have lunch en route. Arrive by late afternoon, check in at the lodge and relax.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs/Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 4: Trekking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi National Park

Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Hikers will love trekking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take 3 to 8 hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any gorilla. But it will be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience!

You will carry packed lunch on this day.

Note: For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.

The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs/Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

 

Day 5: Bwindi – Transfer to Entebbe by flight

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi for your flight back to Entebbe departing by mid-morning. Arrive and connect with outbound flight.
