13-Day Maasai Mara, Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Zanzibar Luxury Safari

Day 1: Nairobi– Transfer to Maasai Mara (Approx. 5-6 hours)

You will be picked by our tour guide/driver from your Nairobi hotel at 6.30 a.m. Depart for Mara immediately to arrive for lunch at the lodge. Later have game drive at 3p.m. till 6p.m.

Alternatively, take a mid-morning flight to Mara. Flight takes 45 minutes (At an extra cost).

Overnight: Kichwa Tembo/Entim or Mara Bush/Ashnil or Sarova/Zebra Plains or Ilkeliani

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2, 3 & 4: Maasai Mara – Full day

Spend these 3 days with game drives in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits these beautiful savannah plains. All meals are taken at the camp.

Look out for migration!

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, a visit to Maasai village, sun downer, bush breakfast & guided nature walks

Overnight: Kichwa Tembo/Entim or Mara Bush/Ashnil or Sarova/Zebra Plains or Ilkeliani

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Kisumu – Entebbe – Bwindi (All by flight)

Have breakfast then be transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Entebbe departing Mara at 8.45 a.m. to arrive in Kisumu at 9.50 a.m. The flight have short stop in Kisumu for immigration purposes.  Depart Kisumu for Entebbe at 10.30a.m. to arrive in Entebbe at 11.30 a.m. You will connect with a flight to Bwindi departing at 12.45 p.m. Arrive in Kihihi Airstrip at 1.55 p.m. and be picked by lodge’s guide and transfer you to Bwindi, Buhoma section.

The day is spent on leisure or guided community walks.

Note – Sometimes flight timings are adjusted depending on weather.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 6: Tracking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi National Park

Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike, it may take 3 to 8 hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorilla. But it will be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience!

You will carry packed lunch on this day.

Note: For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.

The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. After trekking, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Overnight: Bwindi Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 7: Bwindi – Relaxation

Relax by the lodge or taking guided walks or visit the local community with a local guide.

Note: The activities can be done interchangeably depending on availability of gorilla permit.
Overnight: Bwindi Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 8: Bwindi – Transfer to Entebbe – Zanzibar by flight

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi for your flight back to Entebbe.  Flight departs at mid-morning. Once you land in Entebbe you will connect with a flight to Zanzibar.

Upon landing in Zanziba, our driver is on stand-by to transfer you to the hotel.

Overnight: Kisiwa On The Beach/Melia Zanzibar/Matemwe Lodge
Meal Plan: Half Board/Full Board

Day 9 – 12: Zanzibar

Leisure activities.

Overnight: Kisiwa On The Beach/Melia Zanzibar/Matemwe Lodge
Meal Plan: Half Board/Full Board

Day 13: Zanzibar – Transfer to Nairobi by flight

On this day, you will have a transfer to the airport for a flight to Nairobi where you will connect with your out-bound flight;
