12-Day Kenya & Uganda Luxury Safari with Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Nairobi – Arrival: Meet & Greet

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Hotel for overnight stay.

Overnight: Giraffe Manor/Hemingways

Meal plan: Full Board/Bed & Breakfast

Day 2: Nairobi – Day tour

Have breakfast at the hotel with the giraffes. Spend this day visiting Giraffe Centre & David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

Day 3: Nairobi – Transfer to Samburu by flight

You will be driven to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for a morning flight to Samburu National Reserve. Be met at the airstrip by camp’s guide and be transferred to the camp with a game drive en route. After lunch there will be an afternoon game drive.

Overnight: Sasaab Lodge/Surana Buffalo Springs/Soroi Samburu Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4 & 5: Samburu – Morning and afternoon game drives

These 2 full days you will have morning and afternoon game drives.

Other activities: Walking safaris, Samburu village visit & a visit to Reteti Elephant Orphanage

Overnight: Sasaab Lodge/Surana Buffalo Springs/Soroi Samburu Lodge

Day 6: Samburu – Transfer to Maasai Mara by flight

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a scheduled mid-morning flight to Maasai Mara. Be met by the camp’s guide and transferred to the camp. There will be a game drive after lunch.

Overnight: Sanctuary Olonana/Ilkeliani Camp/Zebra Plains Mara Camp

Day 7 & 8: Maasai Mara – Morning and afternoon game drives

These 2 full days have morning and afternoon game drives.

Optional activities: Walking safaris, balloon ride, Maasai Village visit and night game drives.

Overnight: Sanctuary Olonana/Ilkeliani Camp/Zebra Plains Mara Camp

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 9: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Kisumu – Entebbe (All by flight)

Have breakfast then be transferred to the airstrip for a flight to Nairobi where you will catch another flight to Entebbe. Arrive and have a transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Overnight: Hotel No.5/Best Western Hotel Entebbe

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10: Entebbe – Transfer to Bwindi by flight

You will be picked up from Entebbe hotel and transferred to the airport for a flight to Bwindi departing at mid-morning. Arrive at Kihihi Airstrip and be picked by our guide and transferred to Bwindi, Buhoma section. This is 1 hour, 30 minutes’ scenic transfer to the lodge. Arrive in time for lunch.

The afternoon is spent relaxing by the lodge.

Day 11: Trekking Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi National Park

Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Hikers will love trekking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike; it may take 3 to 8 hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead before you encounter any gorilla. But it will be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience!

You will carry a packed lunch on this day.

Note: For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.

The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs/Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma Lodge

Day 12: Bwindi – Transfer to Entebbe, by flight

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi for your flight back to Entebbe. Flight departs at 9.45a.m. to arrive at 11.25a.m. Connect with a flight back to Nairobi where you will connect with a home-bound flight.
