Diani Beach Holiday Destinations

Diani is one of the top beach destinations you can find anywhere. Diani is in Kwale County, along the edge of the Indian Ocean.

Go for the dolphins, bird life, sacred forests, golfing, dining, diving, and glass bottom boat trips.

What to Do in Diani

  • Visit Borabora Wildlife Park. Borabora is a small zoo with monkeys, giraffes, crocodiles, impalas, buffaloes, and zebra.
  • Diani is close to Shimba Hills National Reserve. You will find birdlife, bushy-tailed mongoose, elephant shrew, and Sable antelope. Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park and Reserve is at the coral gardens. There are coral rag forest islands within it that have fringing reefs. Breeding migratory birds and marine animals reside here.
  • The Africa Pool at Tiwi Beach end has a section of coral reefs but no sandy beach. This natural photogenic rock pool with an African continent shape is only visible at low tide.
  • At Fikirini village is the Three Sister’s Caves. It is home to bats and several flying foxes. Slave traders hid in the underground caverns of the caves.
  • Visit the coral rock Slave Caves at Shimoni. They offer a solemn reminder of the slave trade.
  • On the beach road between Asin’s Hotel and Spice Bar is Komboza Cave, whose system extends to the sea entrance at Leisure Lodge, and the other side runs to Kongo River and Tiwi.
  • The sacred Kaya Kinondo Sacred Forest has a rich religious and cultural heritage. You can only tour the Kaya forest with a guide. 2 hours in the cool early morning are enough for a full view of the sacred forest.
  • At Diani Beach, you enjoy quad trips, golf at Leisure Golf Club, kite surfing at Mwazaro Beach, snorkeling at Wasini Island and Marine Park, and diving at Diani Marine and Diving The Club.
  • Take a daytime boat tour up the Mwachema River and enjoy the bird life and river flora.
