12 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Safari
An unforgettable 12-day adventure safari through the top wildlife destinations of Kenya and Tanzania. Your journey begins in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, to Sweetwaters, a private conservancy known for its chimpanzee sanctuary. Afterward explore the Aberdares, a mountain range with wildlife, and then transfer to Lake Naivasha, a sanctuary for hippos and birds.
From Lake Naivasha, you will head over to the world-famous Masai Mara, where lions hunt, antelopes, and giraffes graze, and wildebeests migrate. Cross over to Tanzania at the Isebania wonder at the vast Serengeti National Park. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and observe a spectacular concentration of animals within its volcanic caldera.
Your safari concludes with game drives in Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds, before returning to Arusha, Tanzania.
Kenya & Tanzania: 12 Days of Wildlife Wonders
Day 1: Nairobi – Transfer to Sweetwaters (Approximately 4 hours)
You will be picked by our driver/guide from the hotel at 7a.m and immediately depart for Sweetwaters/Ol Pejeta to arrive just before lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 3/4p.m.
Overnight: Sweetwaters Serena
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Sweetwaters – Transfer to Aberdares (Approx. 2 hours)
Have a pre-breakfast game drive then return to the camp for breakfast. Thereafter, depart for Aberdares. Have lunch at Aberdare Country Club before a joint game drive as you head to The Ark lodge. The lodge has a water hole where animals come to drink water.
Overnight: The Ark
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3: Aberdares – Transfer to Lake Naivasha (Approximately 2 hours)
Have breakfast then be transferred to the gate where you will meet up with your driver. Head out to Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent with a boat ride to Crescent Island.
Overnight: Chui/Sopa
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Transfer to Maasai Mara (Approx. 5 – 6 hours)
Have breakfast then depart for Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 3 or 4p.m. till 6p.m.
Overnight: Basecamp or Zebra Plains/Ashnil or Sarova/Entim or Mara Bush Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 5 & 6: Maasai Mara – Full day
Spend this day with a full-day game drive in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits these beautiful savannah plains. There will be picnic lunch on the banks of Mara River or a good picnic spot chosen by your guide.
Optional activities: Hot air balloon & guided nature walks
Overnight: Basecamp or Zebra Plains/Ashnil or Sarova/Entim or Mara Bush Camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 7: Maasai Mara – Transfer to Serengeti (Approx. 7 – 8 hours)
Have early breakfast then depart for Serengeti passing through Isebania border. Carry packed lunch with you from the lodge because you will arrive at the park past lunch hour. Have a game drive as you enter the park and later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Alternatively, take a flight to Serengeti to arrive by early afternoon ($578 per person).
Overnight: Kubu Kubu/Serengeti Serena/Kati Kati or Tortilis
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 8: Serengeti – Full day
You will have a pre-breakfast and afternoon game drives or full-day game drive.

Day 9: Serengeti – Transfer to Ngorongoro (Approximately 3 hours)
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater.
Ngorongoro is quite unique as its physical protection from man natural beauty ranks it among the most pristine wilderness on the earth. It has been also declared the world heritage and is the largest intact crater in the world.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Serena/Rhino Lodge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Crater tour – Transfer to Tarangire
After breakfast, check out of the lodge with packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend the day within the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. Later head to Tarangire to arrive early evening. Check in at the lodge and relax.
Overnight: Maramboi/Burunge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 11: Tarangire – Morning & afternoon game drives
Have morning and afternoon game drives on this day with the rest of the day to be spent relaxing by the lodge.

Day 12: Tarangire – Transfer Kilimanjaro or Arusha
Have breakfast then depart for Kilimanjaro or Arusha and be dropped off at your hotel or airport.
