The itinerary then shifts to Rwanda, beginning with time in Kigali to explore the country’s history and culture, before heading into the Virunga Mountains. Here, trekking through dense forest to observe mountain gorillas in their natural habitat offers one of Africa’s most profound wildlife experiences.
The journey concludes on the shores of Zanzibar, where white-sand beaches and calm turquoise waters provide a peaceful contrast to the adventure safari.

Days 1-2 | Kenya’s Great Rift Valley - Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive and be met by our company representative who will transfer to booked hotel.
Overnight: Tamarind Tree Hotel
Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast
Day 2: Nairobi – Transfer to Lake Nakuru (Approx. 3 hours)
You will be picked by our driver/guide from your Nairobi hotel at 7a.m and immediately depart for Lake Nakuru to arrive by mid-morning. Have a short game drive as you head to the lodge for lunch. Another game drive is at 4p.m. Look out for flamingos, rhinos, buffalos, giraffe and much more.
Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Days 3-5 | The Legendary Masai Mara
Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Transfer Maasai Mara (Approx. 5 hours)
Have breakfast then depart for Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is at 3 or 4p.m. till 6p.m.
Overnight: Basecamp Maasai Mara or Zebra Plains
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 4 & 5: Maasai Mara – Full day
Spend these 2 full-day game drives in search of the big five and many other wildlife that inhabits this beautiful savannah plain. There will be picnic lunch during the day.
Optional activities: Hot air balloon & guided nature walks
Overnight: Basecamp Maasai Mara or Zebra Plains
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Days 9-14 | Zanzibar: The Spice Island Escape
Day 9: Volcanoes – Transfer to Kigali airport – Fly to Zanzibar
Have morning breakfast, head to Kigali city tour for a flight to Zanzibar. Arrive, be picked by your driver and be driven to the beach hotel/resort.
Overnight: Melia Zanzibar/Kilindi Zanzibar
Meal Plan: All Inclusive/Half Board
Day 10 – 13: Zanzibar – Leisure activities
Zanzibar Activities – Spice tour, water sports (diving, snorkeling, sundowner in a dhow, boat rides), stone town guided tour. All these at extra cost.
Overnight: Melia Zanzibar/Kilindi Zanzibar
Meal Plan: All Inclusive
Day 14: Zanzibar – Transfer to Nairobi, by flight
Have morning breakfast, you will have a free relaxed morning day at the hotel, and depending on your flight time out of Nairobi to your home country, you shall be transfer to Zanzibar airport, to catch up with your flight to connect with your evening flight in Nairobi to your home country.
Days 6-8 | Rwanda: Into the Land of a Thousand Hills
Day 6: Masai Mara – Transfer to Nairobi (Travel time + 5.5 hrs ) – Flight to Kigali
Have breakfast then depart for Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch. Have lunch and be dropped off at the airport for flight to Kigali. Arrive and be transferred to the hotel.
Overnight: Park Inn Kigali
Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast
Day 7: Kigali – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Today you will be picked at your lodge after completing your morning breakfast, and head for a Kigali city tour and visit the Kigali genocide memorial ground, and have lunch before being transferred to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park where you will your dinner and overnight stay.
Overnight: Five Volcanoes/Ingagi Park View
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 8. Mountain Gorilla Tracking
Assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing in the morning together with your trekking gear and drinking water and ascend in the forest to track the gorillas on your first gorilla tracking encounter. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movements of these primates.
