Lewa Conservancy

Lewa offers a unique combination of fantastic scenery, game viewing, multiple endangered species, and hospitality.

Visitors to Lewa contribute to preserving endangered rhinos, grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and colobus Monkey. All these animals remain endangered.

Lewa also has elephant herds, lions, giraffes, buffalo, cheetah, and hundreds of bird species.

 

How to get to Lewa Conservancy

Lewa is close to Isiolo town. It is four hours from Nairobi by road.

A direct flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi will get you to a private airstrip at Lewa. Flights are available daily. Always arrive half an hour earlier for a scheduled flight.

Private flights are available too.

 

When to Visit Lewa

The best time to be in Lewa is between June and September. The weather is dry, roads are good, and animals are easier to spot. The rainy season is less favorable.

 

What to wear to Lewa Conservancy

Dress for warm days and cool nights. Wear light and comfortable fabric. A jacket will keep you warm in the evenings. Clothing should be in neutral colors like green and brown.

A good sunblock and a hat protect your skin from the harsh sunlight. Wear quality walking shoes.
