Tsavo West National Park
Leopards, Cheetahs, Wild dogs, Buffalos, Rhinos, Lions, and Crocodiles, are just a few of our favorite things at Tsavo West National Park.
Tsavo offers the most exquisite, rugged scenery and good bird watching too.
Getting to Tsavo West National Park
There are three possible ways to get there:
- Fly from Nairobi to an airstrip at Tsavo West on a charter flight. Ot os a 30-50 minute flight.
- Go there by road. Drive there from Mombasa or Nairobi. Enter by the Mtito Andei or the Chyulu gate.
- Take a train ride to Mtito Andei and then travel to Tsavo West by road from there.
A tour guide can make the arrangements for you.
When to Visit Tsavo West
Tsavo is good all year round, but the best game viewing on offer is available in July, August, September, December, January, February, and March.
Drier weather means animals gather around watering holes, becoming them easier to see. Prepare for higher temperatures in December and January.
What to wear in Tsavo West National Park
Protect your skin with quality sunscreen and a good bug repellent. Good walking shoes to protect your feet. Wear breathable pants or shorts, quality socks, light dresses, a raincoat, and a light jumper for evenings and early mornings.
